LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Gayatri Rural Educational Society ( GRES) is now effective in THE STATE OF Andhra Pradesh covering 23 Districts. The key target groups are Dalits (the so called untouchables or lowest caste group), children, child labourers, Minority women, disadvantaged youth, rural women and unorganized rural labourers.
Objectives
To develop for leadership development of minority women, including their neighbours from other communities living in the village/locality, is to empower and instill confidence in women, by providing knowledge, tools and techniques for interacting with Government systems, banks, and intermediaries at all levels to reach out to women through conducting leadership development trainings so that women are empowered and emboldened to move out of the confines of home and community and assume leadership roles and assert their rights, collectively or individually, in accessing services, facilities, skills, and opportunities besides claiming their due share of development benefits for improving their lives and living conditions.
- To improve their standard of living and document the traditional scientific knowledge and conducted leadership development training programmes/skills of the rural and minority women.
- To empowerment of the villages and minority women with special focus on women and children to impart socio-economic and cultural awareness through village associations their identity and legal rights.
- To improve the economic situation of the women especially the minority women through income generating activities/Leadership Development Programmes.
- To formulate and implement activities to promote the reveal and enhancement of traditional occupations.
Major Programmes And Activities
- Literacy and capacity building programmers and training camps.
- Forest conservation and regeneration and local resources protection.
- Village reconstruction and assets building for the poor and marginalized especially among minority women.
- Gender equity and gender sensitization programmers for women and men.
Current experience of having conducted leadership development in the region/State/area/locality where they intend to operate.
